Equine practice at it's best. Come for an externship at Massachusetts Equine Clinic located within an hour of Boston and Providence. Our interns have gone into private practice and many now own their own clinics. Others have continued on in residencies. You will get a hands on experience that will include everything a sports medicine focused general practice has to offer. You will have the opportunity to see a varied clientele from back yard to top show barns. Travel with one of our four veterinarians, get to know about the internship from our current interns, and spend a day at Tufts University, if desired. We can support clinical skills checklists required by your university. If desired, you can also ride along for after hours emergencies. A typical day will include readying the vehicle for the road, seeing 6-10 appointments ranging from routine care and vaccines, sick appointments and lameness exams. Become familiar with ultrasound, IRAP and powerfloating. Plan to see some reproductive cases in the spring and early summer. We look forward to creating a well-rounded experience for you.

The Massachusetts Equine Clinic is a well-established practice located in south-central Massachusetts. The practice services performance and pleasure horses and has a high volume of sports medicine cases. We are primarily ambulatory with a few stalls to house overnight patients. We have access to referral hospitals in the area and have a close relationship with specialists from all backgrounds.
