Cumming Veterinary Clinic is offering flexible hours (32-40hr/week based on your desired schedule) to an experienced compassionate doctor. Interest in avian/exotics, endoscopy, and/or orthopedics preferred but not required.
Who we are
Cumming Veterinary Clinic is a growing companion animal practice located in Forsyth County Georgia. We have served the surrounding communities since 1986, opening as the first AAHA accredited practice in Forsyth County. We are proudly not corporate, have an outstanding reputation and a strong client base. We have an amazing team built around respect and collaboration with a support staff to doctor ratio of five to one. Historically we have an avian/exotic practice with a large species specific client base, but our current doctor team is only canine/feline. A new doctor with that skill set would be stepping into over 700 active clients that would only seek your care. We are a VMG member to incorporate the best financial data to assure the success of our veterinarians.
Our hospital is extremely well equipped. We have multiple ultrasound machines, multiple rigid and flexible endoscopes, full in house lab including blood gas analysis and culture incubator, surgical suite with full 6 parameter monitoring, digital radiology, digital dental radiology, multiple high speed dental units, tonometry, class II chemo hood, EKG, LigaSure, and full in house pharmacy.
Our team is well trained and allows the veterinarian to concentrate on doing the things that drew us all to this profession in the first place; delivering excellent patient care and educating our clients while advocating for the patient.
We are fully paperless and provide transcription devices for the veterinarians that prefer to not type medical records, freeing up hours of time per week to improve patient care (and your quality of life).
Where we are going
Our practice is expanding into a state of the art facility in 2023 designed by Animal Arts to provide cutting edge care for the future. This eight exam room hospital (including one fully enclosed and equipped outside exam space for the nervous dog, pig or small ruminant) doubles our capacity to 14,000 sq ft. The facility will allow us to be Fear Free certified and provide species dedicated spaces. Who you are
Georgia licensed veterinarian with at least two years experience or completion of an internship in small animal or avian medicine. Comfortable with general surgery, internal medicine, radiology, and dentistry. Preference for veterinarian skilled in avian/exotic medicine with large signing bonus for the right candidate. Special interests in orthopedics, endoscopy, or cardiology will also add additional signing bonuses. Have the desire to learn one of these disciplines? We will help out with additional supplemental CE on us for the right candidate.
You must want a work life balance that doesn't keep you or our team late; we are open during the week until 6pm and until 2pm on Saturdays. We refer anything past these hours to local emergency clinics and we don't have emergency call. Our work week is flexible to your needs, with 3-4 shifts per week as well as rotating Saturday duty (about once every 3 weeks on average).

What We Offer
Competitive Guaranteed Salary $110,000+ depending on experience and special interests. We run open books and if your contract would have been better as a commission based design we will pay you the difference; this is certain to happen to someone seeing our avian/exotic patients. Signing bonus is $10,000, with additional bonuses based on your areas of expertise: avian/exotic $20,000, orthopedic $10,000+ (up to $30,000 if you are skilled in TPLO), LOVE spay trained $10,000, skilled echosonographer $5000. Heath insurance, PTO, and a generous 401(k) with immediate vesting. PLIT, licensing, and professional memberships covered. CE including PTO with additional budget if you are bringing new skills back to the hospital. Vision, dental, life insurance available.
